Job summary

Alexander House Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care for residents in Exeter. You will oversee medication, ensure accurate records, and maintain clear communication with families and professionals.

The successful candidate will work alternate weekends, with a starting rate of £14.00 per hour and a contract of 24-48 hours per week.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the care team to deliver safe, high quality, person-centred care
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents' wellbeing
• Ensure care is well organised, consistently delivered, and well documented
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate with families and healthcare professionals
• Work shifts with weekend requirements as part of the rota

Job description

Our newly built care home is based in the charming suburb of Pinhoe, Exeter. We offer exceptional standards of Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 67 residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.00 per hour
• Contracted to 24-48 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The sucessful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
