Job summary

Valarian Court Care Home in Didcot, Oxfordshire, part of Care Concern Group, offers Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 70 residents.

We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support a care team, ensuring safe, high quality, person-centred care and overseeing shifts, medications, and resident wellbeing. You will maintain records and liaise with families and professionals, with weekend work required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum); Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the care team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
• Oversee shift operations and ensure care is well organised and delivered to a high standard.
• Take responsibility for medication oversight and resident wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and ensure clear communication with families and healthcare professionals.
• Work alternate weekends as required.

Based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, our newly-built care home offers exceptional standards of Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 70-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Full & Part time hours available
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be requird to work alternate weekends.

We Are Looking For
