The role
A day in the role
Your round includes your own visits plus a small number of check-in or support visits where a newer carer needs a hand. You might carry a phone for shift queries and be the person the office calls when something needs sorting on the ground.

From Senior Care Assistant, the next step is Field Care Supervisor or Care Coordinator, depending on whether you prefer hands‑on care or rota planning.
You are not left to manage situations alone. The office team, the Field Care Supervisor and the Registered Manager are reachable, and the systems in Birdie mean you are working from a clear care plan, not improvising.
What supports you
Carers are usually let down by the organisation around them rather than by their own effort. These three systems exist so that does not happen here.
Structured policies and procedures that support professional standards across everything we do.
Ongoing e-learning and staff development, so our team keeps building on what they know.
