Job summary

Silverleigh Care Home in Axminster, Devon, is seeking a caring Care Assistant to support residents with daily living, personal care, mobility and nutrition. You will follow care plans, support emotional wellbeing and help create a safe, dignified environment.

This role offers training, weekend rotation and a welcoming team. NVQ Level 2 desirable, but not essential; full training provided. 38.25 hours per week, £12.71 per hour, with 5.6 weeks leave and DBS pension and uniform supplied.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 is desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living, including personal care and mobility.
• Support nutrition and hydration per care plans and dietary needs.
• Promote emotional wellbeing and respect residents' dignity.
• Work as part of a team to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Job description

Silverleigh is a beautiful care home, situated at the heart of a thriving community in a quiet street in the centre of Axminster, Devon. Silverleigh is registered for 65 residents.

Care Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 38.25 hours per week
• Paid DBS pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in our residents lives everyday. This role is central to delivering high quality, person centred care that supports dignity, independence and overall wellbeing. You will support individuals with daily living including personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable, respected and valued. By following care plans and recognising changes in condition, you will contribute to safe, responsive and consistent care. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a warm and positive environment where relationships matter and people feel truly cared for. This opportunity is open to both experienced carers and those new to care, with full training, guidance and ongoing development provided to support your journey. The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
