Job summary

Silverleigh Care Home in Axminster, Devon, is seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, dignity and comfort for residents.

You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard, assist with laundry, follow infection control and health and safety procedures, and work 32 hours per week with alternate weekends. The role offers DBS paid, pension, uniform provided and 5.6 weeks annual leave.

Qualifications

• Cleanliness and high hygiene standards are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience is welcome but not required.

Job description

Silverleigh is a beautiful care home, situated at the heart of a thriving community in a quiet street in the centre of Axminster, Devon. Silverleigh is registered for 65 residents.

Domestic Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 32 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Domestic Assistant, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, dignity and comfort. This is a hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will have a direct impact on daily life.
You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. You will also support laundry services, helping to ensure personal belongings are handled with care and returned correctly.
Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in line with required standards. Your role will contribute to a well organised, respectful and comfortable environment for everyone.
The sucessful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
