Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia to join the established Anaesthetic Department at Glenfield Hospital. Qualifications

• Fully trained in Anaesthesia with ongoing professional development.
• FRCA or equivalent qualification and eligibility for Specialist Register or CESR pathway.
• Higher Specialist Training accreditation or eligibility within UK system.
• Professional memberships and ongoing CPD.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high‑quality anaesthetic service for elective and emergency care at UHL.
• Deliver high‑risk cardiothoracic anaesthesia outpatient work and perioperative services.
• Participate in consultant on‑call rota and lead perioperative medicine initiatives.
• Supervise, mentor and assess junior medical staff and trainees.
