Job summary

SP Manweb in Prenton is recruiting a Project Manager to lead major capital investment and customer connections projects within the SP Energy Networks licence area. You will direct cross‑functional teams, manage budgets, governance and risk, and ensure delivery to safety, quality and regulatory standards.

The role covers mobilisation through construction, commissioning, handover and close‑out, with a strong focus on programme controls and commercial management.

Qualifications

• HND in a relevant engineering, construction or project management discipline or equivalent.
• Experience of managing complex construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience of leading projects through construction, commissioning, handover and close‑out.
• Knowledge of recognised project management methodologies and project control disciplines.
• Experience of programme management, cost forecasting, change control, risk and opportunity management, and performance reporting.
• Experience of contract and commercial management, including NEC, FIDIC, design & construct, framework or comparable forms of contract.
• Knowledge of multidisciplinary project teams and ability to coordinate resources.
• Stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, influencing and conflict‑resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams across design, engineering, operations, commercial and finance.
• Manage contract and commercial arrangements with appointed contractors and service partners.
• Maintain governance, programme control, cost forecasting, risk management and change control.
• Develop, monitor and adjust integrated project plans, budgets and resource plans.
• Ensure outputs meet safety, quality, regulatory and technical standards.
• Report on safety, schedule, cost, risk and key decisions with clear governance.
