Job summary

Buttermilk in London is seeking a Senior Campaign Director to oversee the full lifecycle of creator campaigns, from discovery to content approvals. You will set and monitor delivery timelines, manage client communications, and ensure campaigns achieve KPIs while protecting profitability.

You will lead and mentor the campaign delivery team, aligning client expectations with internal KPIs and maintaining high standards of collaboration and performance.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in campaign or project management within an agency setting.
  • Mandatory agency background with extensive experience in account management and Influencer Marketing.
  • Strong project management experience with a proven ability to deliver successful campaigns.
  • People management experience, with a demonstrated track record of mentoring and leading teams.
  • Experience working with large conglomerate brands (e.g. Estee Lauder, L'Oreal).
  • Experience managing always-on clients, with a focus on consistent delivery and client satisfaction.

Role Overview

As a Senior Campaign Director at Buttermilk, you will oversee the full campaign lifecycle for clients, ensuring efficient, profitable, and high-quality execution from discovery to content approvals. You will be responsible for setting and monitoring delivery timelines, managing client communications, and ensuring campaigns meet KPIs while protecting project profitability. Additionally, you will lead and mentor a team, fostering collaboration and excellence across the board.

Key Responsibilities
Campaign Management & Process Optimisation:
  • Oversee the creator process from discovery to content approvals, driving efficiency, profitability, and campaign success.

  • Increase creator sign-up rates, reduce drop-out rates, and enhance content quality and campaign results.

  • Innovating on optimisation of our wider agency delivery processes and feeding back to Head of Creator Services.

Timeline & Target Setting:
  • Establish and monitor campaign delivery timelines and set clear, actionable targets for the team.

  • Collaborate with clients, strategy, and data teams to recommend deliverables based on the client brief and set realistic KPIs.

Client Communications:
  • Manage client communications related to delivery, including timelines, creator management, and content approvals.

  • Act as the escalation point for any team or client issues, ensuring smooth and effective communication.

Financial & Margin Oversight:
  • Oversee the financial performance of creator programs to ensure campaigns hit or exceed gross profit (GP) goals.

  • Monitor margins and ensure resources are effectively managed to protect profitability.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:
  • Manage and mentor the campaign delivery team, providing both line and project management support.

  • Ensure the team is aligned with both client expectations and internal KPIs, promoting a culture of high standards and collaboration.

Reporting & Data Management:
  • Provide input into client reports and status updates, ensuring accuracy and transparency in campaign progress.

  • Conduct data checks and oversee dashboard reviews to track and optimise campaign performance.

Trains and oversees the (Senior) Campaign Manager in setting clear campaign timelines. Supports Campaign Manager in managing internal teams to meet deadlines (across multiple departments).

Trains and oversees the (Senior) Campaign Manager in setting clear targets for the creator services team (whilst referring to the capacity key/ considering an efficient team with competitive targets). Ensures targets are met.

Consistently delivers projects on time and within budget.

Proactively considers (and inspires Campaign Manager to consider) how processes around timeline and target setting can be optimised to lead to a high-performing and efficiently run team.

Client Communications

Trains and supports the (Senior) Campaign Manager in delivering clear and concise client communications for campaign & timeline updates.

Delivers timely responses to clients.

Strong relationship built with clients (particularly more senior clients) - seen as expert in their vertical.

Strong presentation skills.

Financial & Margin Oversight
Train and oversee the (Senior) Campaign Manager on the profitability of creator programs to ensure campaigns meet or exceed GP (gross profit)/ campaign budget goals.

Train and oversee the (Senior) Campaign Manager in managing resources effectively to protect and enhance project profitability.

Proactively explores how influencer budgets and team resource/ project profitability tracking and implementation can be optimised for future campaigns. Consider how agency processes can be improved and feedback to Head of Creator Services.

Team Management & Development

Effectively manages the creator team (including Senior Creator Executives and Campaign Managers) by providing regular, constructive feedback to support individual and team performance.

Facilitates professional growth and development for direct reports through coaching, training, and career progression opportunities.

Ensures team alignment with client goals and internal KPIs, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and motivated work environment.

Reporting & Data Management

Training and overseeing (Senior) Campaign Manager in analysis of results & pivots where required. Weekly decks being thorough and informative.

Training and overseeing the team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of dashboard insight inputting and reporting.

Trains the (Senior) Campaign Manager to upskill and delegate reporting and data management tasks to the wider team.

Proactivity in considering optimisation to reporting and data management processes, to improve wider agency processes.

Campaign Management & Process Optimisation

Trains the (Senior) Campaign Manager to oversee the creator process from discovery to content approvals, driving efficiency, profitability, and campaign success. Acts as topline escalation point.

Trains the (Senior) Campaign Manager to consider how to increase creator sign-up rates, reduce drop-out rates, and enhance content quality and campaign results.

Innovating on optimisation of our wider agency delivery processes and feeding back to Head of Creator Services. Inspires and guides the team to consider optimisations and collates all learnings.

Required Experience & Skills
