Job summary

Creative Support invites applications for a Café Lead at the Courtyard Café in Leeds, a not-for-profit community venture. You will lead a small team, manage stock and orders, and uphold top hygiene and safety standards while engaging with local partners to benefit adults with learning disabilities and autism.

Qualifications

Job description

Do you have the skills to provide the lead for the successful operation of a not for profit community café? You could be the next enthusiastic team member of the local management team to join our small and friendly Community Café.

Responsibilities

• The Café Lead will be responsible for stock taking, ordering provision and maintaining the kitchen in a hygienic and safe condition and the successful running of the cafe.
• You will be required to lead and manage a small team of café support workers and service users who are on placement in the café.
• The Courtyard Café supports adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism to operate and run a café for the benefit of the local community.
• You will also be responsible for further developing community links and partnerships within the local community.
• As part of your role, you will prepare meals, lead a small café team and develop community partnerships within the local area.
• You will ensure that that highest standard of food quality, hygiene and safety are consistently maintained.
• You will take the lead on food ordering and checking that all food records are accurately maintained.
• You will be able to demonstrate competent food preparation skills, and will be capable of managing a small kitchen.

Qualifications and Experience

• You will have at least one year’s experience in a similar positon, or with similar responsibilities.
• An NVQ in Professional Cookery, and a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate/Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is also required.

Hours & Location

37.5 hrs per week, to be worked over 5 days including Saturdays. Part time hours are also available, a minimum of 2 days per week (18 hours). The service is on a main public transport route and is easily accessible.
