Job summary

SWARCO in Melsonby is seeking a highly skilled CAD Design Engineer to develop electro-mechanical product designs and deliver manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor. You will produce detailed 3D models, BOMs, and documentation, work with Electrical Design Engineers and cross-functional teams, and support production with drawing packages and design automation.

Candidates should have 5+ years in CAD design, strong Inventor experience, DFm, ERP/PDM, Vault, and FEA; driving license and right

Qualifications

HNC or HND in Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ CAD Design experience in engineering or manufacturing.
At least 3 years’ experience with Autodesk Inventor.
Experience producing manufacturing drawings and applying DFM principles.
Experience managing BOMs and CAD data through ERP/PDM systems.
Strong knowledge of Autodesk Vault Professional.
Experience producing assembly/fabrication drawings and detailed component drawings.
Experience with FEA and structural design principles.
Proficient in iLogic and CAD automation; excellent organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration across departments; full UK driving licence; right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Inventor.
Produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings and complete drawing packages.
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Perform structural analysis using FEA simulations.
Develop and program iLogic functions and other design automation tools.
Work with Autodesk Vault for data/version control; collaborate with Electrical Design Engineers.
Produce drawing sets for product approvals and support project reviews.
Maintain CAD archives and support project close-out activities.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across design processes and documentation.
Support production by preparing production packs and assisting with large-scale projects.
