Job summary

SWARCO ITS is seeking an experienced CAD Design Engineer to join the Melsonby team. You will develop high-quality electro‑mechanical product designs and produce detailed 3D models, drawings and BOMs using Autodesk Inventor, collaborating with Electrical Design Engineers and cross‑functional teams.

You will maintain CAD data in Vault, perform FEA-based analyses, and develop design automation with iLogic, delivering packages on project timelines and contributing to continuous improvement across

Qualifications

• HNC or HND in Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years CAD Design experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• 3+ years Autodesk Inventor experience.
• Experience producing manufacturing drawings and applying DFM.
• Experience managing Bills of Materials with ERP/PDM.
• Strong Autodesk Vault Professional knowledge.
• Experience producing assembly and fabrication drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Right to work in the UK and Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Produce manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings and complete drawing packages.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct structural analysis using FEA simulations.
• Develop and program iLogic functions and other design automation tools.
• Collaborate with Electrical Design Engineers to deliver complete design packages.
• Maintain CAD data with Autodesk Vault and handle version control.
• Prepare production packs and support large-scale engineering projects.
• Support project model reviews and document archives.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design processes.
