Job summary

Custom Cages, based in Daventry, seeks a Design Engineer to join its Motorsport and Automotive team. You will create 3D CAD models, engineer drawings and support builds for OEMs and top-tier teams, collaborating across departments.

Working with SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or Inventor, you will translate concepts into manufacturable designs while maintaining high quality and compliant documentation. A CAD trial and a background in mechanical engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or closely related subject. HND or Degree preferred.
• A CAD competency trial will be required.
• Interest in cars and/or motorsport advantageous.
• Knowledge or understanding of CMM systems.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• CAD oriented role with experience in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor or similar CAD software required.
• The ability to understand and create engineering drawings.
• Support builds and production for Automotive OEM’s to top tier motorsport teams.
• Collaborate with other departments and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
