Job summary

Pico Technology in St Neots, England seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer to advance real-time data handling and bus data decoding. You will lead feature design, shape the architecture, and balance new work with technical debt in an Agile team.

You will work across the SDLC, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor colleagues while exploring new technologies within a hybrid setup (3 days remote, 2 days onsite in St Neots).

Qualifications

• Expertise in modern C++ (C++17) and performance critical work.
• Experience in software architecture for data acquisition or signal processing.
• Strong SDLC understanding with unit and integration testing in Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of new features and extend architecture.
• Provide reliable estimates and identify technical risks for delivery.
• Implement features with a focus on C++17 and real-time data handling.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prototypes for future designs.
• Drive quality through peer reviews, defect resolution, and CI/CD lifecycles.
• Mentor and guide developers and advocate for continuous improvement.
