Job summary

Electus Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Engineer to shape the design and delivery of safety-critical control systems in Bristol. The role offers technical leadership across diverse engineering environments, with long-term professional development and client-facing consultancy opportunities.

You will lead C&I activities, mentor engineers, and manage safety-critical projects in highly regulated sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with process control systems and related documentation.
• Experience applying IEC 61508/61511, ISO 13849, DO-178/DO-254.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to mentor and provide technical direction to teams.
• Background in control and instrumentation within safety-critical environments.
• Experience delivering functional safety solutions to industry standards.
• Proven technical leadership on engineering projects.
• Client-facing consultancy or stakeholder management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead C&I and functional safety activities from concept through to implementation and commissioning.
• Support development of control systems, safety systems and innovative solutions.
• Work across Engineering Consultancy projects in highly regulated safety-critical sectors.
• Manage technical deliverables, budgets, schedules and stakeholder engagement.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to growth of technical capability.
