Job summary

Matchtech in Bristol seeks a Group Leader to head an Electrical, Control, Instrumentation and Security team. You will lead complex engineering projects, ensure safety and quality, manage stakeholders and drive business growth across sectors.

The role combines technical leadership, project delivery and people management, with opportunities to develop talent and deliver innovative solutions in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of process control systems.
• Experience with EC&I documentation: SLDs, P&IDs, BCDs, electrical schematics.
• Experience delivering safety-critical systems to IEC 61513/61508/61511, ISO 13849, DO-178/DO-254.
• Mentoring and developing engineers.
• Technical leadership in multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience in consultancy or engineering services environment.
• Supervisory/line management experience.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies/frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, operational and people leadership for the EC&I&S team.
• Support business growth through client engagement, bid support and capability development.
• Ensure delivery of projects within safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Develop and mentor engineers, supporting professional development and succession planning.
• Foster effective collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Maintain high standards of governance, compliance and technical excellence.
