Job summary

Quest Global is seeking talented engineers for the Control & Instrumentation team in the UK. The role focuses on technical leadership of control and instrumentation systems, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and asset lifecycle effectiveness across complex assets and facilities.

You will develop and review C&I designs, engage with customers and regulators, lead hazard studies and support installations, commissioning and testing, while mentoring junior engineers to grow the capability of the

Qualifications

• Degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• C&I engineering experience within a highly regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation and functional safety.
• Experience producing and reviewing engineering calculations, specifications and design documentation.
• Experience supporting design, modification and asset lifecycle activities.
• Understanding of safety-critical environments and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with IEC 61508/61511 functional safety standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working in defence, energy, infrastructure or process industries.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for control and instrumentation systems.
• Develop, review and approve C&I designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Support maintenance, fault investigations, obsolescence management and plant modifications.
• Engage directly with customers, project teams and regulators to ensure engineering solutions meet requirements.
• Lead design reviews, hazard studies and engineering substantiation activities.
• Support installation, commissioning, testing and operational readiness activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering capability development.
