Job summary

Technical Partners is supporting a leading engineering organisation in Derby, recruiting a Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer to lead C&I design across the full lifecycle for safety-critical projects in nuclear, energy and process sectors.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, contribute to bids, and help develop the C&I capability while ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and industry practices.

Qualifications

Degree in Control, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline.
Significant experience in C&I engineering, preferably in nuclear/regulated environments.
Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and functional safety.
Knowledge of IEC/BS standards and functional safety frameworks.

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary C&I design activities across the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
Produce and review C&I deliverables including specifications, I/O lists and diagrams.
Develop control system architectures, networks and cybersecurity considerations.
Contribute to safety and risk assessments such as HAZOP, SIL and FMEA.
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
Support bids, tenders and early project development.
Identify opportunities for technical improvement and process development.
