Job summary

Amentum in Warrington is seeking a Lead Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to drive engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle. You will lead the C&I discipline, manage a team of engineers and coordinate delivery of safe, compliant systems for a high-stakes, regulated environment.

The role requires a strong background in C&I engineering, Chartered status or progress toward it, and proven experience guiding major projects within nuclear or similarly regulated sectors.

Qualifications

• BEng/MEng in Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent, or demonstrable experience with a related qualification.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or ability to achieve it in the near term.
• Experience leading C&I engineering teams on complex projects.
• Demonstrable experience acting as discipline lead for major engineering initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of control/instrumentation and applicable industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of C&I engineering solutions across all project phases.
• Deliver C&I activities that are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
• Act as discipline lead, providing governance and strategic direction.
• Coordinate a team of C&I engineers and designers to meet objectives.
• Produce, review and approve C&I deliverables per procedures and standards.
• Oversee design and integration of control/instrumentation systems and interfaces.
• Provide technical leadership to supply chain partners and ensure supplier designs meet requirements.
• Ensure multidisciplinary integration with electrical, mechanical, process, civil, commissioning and construction teams.
