VGC is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team in Sunbury-on-Thames. The role focuses on procuring subcontract services, materials and products across projects, with flexibility for contract or permanent employment and a negotiable day rate.

You will develop procurement plans, issue tenders, evaluate bids and negotiate with suppliers while collaborating with project, commercial and delivery teams to meet programme and budget targets. CIPS qualifications are advantageous.

Formación

• Experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or water sectors preferred.
• Strong subcontract and materials procurement experience.
• Good commercial and contractual awareness.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple packages and priorities.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and manage project procurement plans.
• Procure subcontract packages, materials and services.
• Prepare scopes of work and tender documentation.
• Carry out commercial and technical tender evaluations.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Manage procurement activities against programme and budget.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance.
• Resolve commercial and contractual issues.
• Develop strong supply chain relationships.
• Support project and pre-construction teams.
• Identify cost savings and procurement efficiencies.
