Job summary

Galliford Try Group in the Environment division seeks an experienced Buyer (Subcontract & Materials) to procure products, materials and subcontract services across projects. You will coordinate with designers, clients, supply chain and internal delivery teams to support successful project delivery.

You will focus on cost-effective, compliant procurement while meeting programme requirements, with responsibilities including issuing POs, evaluating bids and managing supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, agree and issue procurement plans for projects and programmes of work.
• Carry out supplier and subcontractor pre-qualification assessments.
• Prepare scopes of work for products, materials and subcontract services.
• Prepare and issue invitation to tender (ITT) documentation following receipt of authorised requisitions.
• Undertake commercial and technical bid evaluations to identify the most appropriate suppliers and subcontractors.
• Create, approve and issue purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Manage and expedite the delivery of products and subcontract services to meet programme requirements.
• Monitor and report procurement performance against project budgets.
• Support pre-construction teams through a structured procurement approach during bid stages.
