Job Opportunity: Senior Buyer

Our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their Purchasing team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will be key in executing the supply chain strategy, developing strong supplier partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services aligned with business objectives and cost expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Establish and enhance supplier relationships, identifying opportunities to increase value and drive a responsive, high-performing supply chain.
2. Promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement across all procurement functions.
3. Conduct supplier business reviews, set improvement targets, and track performance against KPIs.
4. Undertake supplier evaluations to confirm shared strategic goals and validate ongoing investment plans.
5. Analyze, identify, and address root causes of supplier performance issues.
6. Lead supply base changes, managing the end-to-end process of supplier introduction, exit, and transition.

Skills & Experience:

• Analytical ability, with sound knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
• Experience in purchasing technical, engineering, and machined parts.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing processes.
• CIPS Level 4 qualification or higher is desirable but not essential.

Security Clearance:

Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance, including providing proof of identity, right to work in the UK, full employment history, and UK residency for at least 5 years.
