Job summary

Places for People seeks an experienced Senior Buyer to join the Regional Commercial Team (South East). You will support live residential developments across Kent and West Sussex, taking ownership of procurement to ensure programme delivery and commercial performance.

You’ll be site-based across Kent and West Sussex, attend the London office two days weekly, and spend at least one day per week on site with project teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline.
• Extensive Senior Buyer or Buyer experience within the housebuilding sector.
• Proven experience completing material take-offs from construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong track record of negotiating material packages and managing procurement across multiple live construction projects.
• Experience using COINS, Microsoft Office and procurement systems to manage buying activities and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage material schedules and complete material take-offs from drawings.
• Negotiate competitive supplier agreements and procure materials to project requirements.
• Collaborate with Technical, Commercial and Operational teams to support planning and cost control.
• Build strong supplier relationships to drive quality, service and value across developments.
