Job summary

Caddy Group Limited is seeking an experienced Buyer for our growing construction client in Kent. The role focuses on procuring materials, equipment and services, negotiating supplier terms and maintaining accurate records across multiple projects.

Responsibilities include raising orders, monitoring lead times and delivering on programme dates, while building strong supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in a buying or procurement role.
• Strong negotiation and commercial awareness skills.
• Experience within construction, mechanical and electrical trades is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the procurement team with purchasing of materials, equipment and services across projects.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and value.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Monitor orders from placement through to delivery, resolving issues or delays promptly.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal project teams.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and up-to-date purchasing documentation.
• Assist with material management to align with project requirements and programme dates.
