Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is seeking a Senior Business Support Administrator to join the Children and Families Contact Swindon team. You will support the processing of information for children and families requiring statutory or intensive support, delivering efficient admin and data tasks with accuracy.

The role requires strong IT skills, excellent customer service, and teamwork, with a hybrid working model and in-office presence two days per week.

Qualifications

  • Experience using IT systems daily, including MS Office, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Office administration experience; compiling documents and reports in Word and Excel and using databases to collate data.
  • Excellent customer service and strong attention to detail in admin tasks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team.

Salary: £30,024 p.a. plus benefits

Please note: 3.3% national pay award increase to be applied in October

37 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract- until end of March 2027

Your next role

We are looking for two Senior Business Support Administrators to work within Children and Families Contact Swindon, which is the front door for Childrens Services. As a Senior Business Support Administrator in Contact Swindon, you support processing of information in a timely efficient way for children and families that need statutory or intensive support.

You’ll need to show in your application that you meet the following criteria for the role:

  • Experience of using IT systems on a daily basis - including MS, Office, Excel, Word, Outlook & any in house systems.
  • Office administration experience including compiling documents andreports in both Word and Excel and using databases to collate data.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail skills in delivering admin tasks
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well within a team

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).

The team operates a hybrid working model with all colleagues expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.
