Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is seeking a motivated Business Analyst Assistant to join the Business Improvement team on a 9-month maternity cover contract. This is an ideal entry point for building a career in business analysis, digital transformation, or service improvement.

You will support gathering requirements, mapping processes, producing documentation, and engaging with stakeholders. The role offers a hybrid working model with two office days per week and a focus on continuous service

Qualifications

  • Supporting Business Analysts in gathering and documenting business and user requirements.
  • Assisting with business process mapping and service reviews.
  • Researching and analysing information to support project and service improvement activities.
  • Producing clear and accurate documentation, reports and meeting notes.
  • Supporting workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Helping maintain project and requirements documentation.
  • Working with colleagues to understand current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting testing activities and helping ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and user-focused service design.

Your next role:

We're looking for a motivated and ambitious Business Analyst Assistant to join our Business Improvement team on a 9-month maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in business analysis, digital transformation or service improvement. This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their Business Analysis career or somebody looking to transfer existing skills into a business analysis environment.

You will be required to have experience and skills in the following:

  • Supporting Business Analysts in gathering and documenting business and user requirements.
  • Assisting with business process mapping and service reviews.
  • Researching and analysing information to support project and service improvement activities.
  • Producing clear and accurate documentation, reports and meeting notes.
  • Supporting workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Helping maintain project and requirements documentation.
  • Working with colleagues to understand current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting testing activities and helping ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and user-focused service design.

The team operates a hybrid working model with all practitioners expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
