The role will report to the Head of School Administration.

About The Role

The successful candidate will lead, set the strategic direction for and oversee the School Business Operations Team. They will oversee the delivery of business operation services (finance, estates, and HR) for all students and academic staff within School of Politics and Economics. Furthermore, the successful candidate will support the Head of School and the Head of School Administration in achieving the School's strategic and operational aims. They will contribute to, and provide support for, the School's strategic planning and policy development.

This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. This is a hybrid role with a minimum requirement of 2 days a week in the office.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of (university) policies and procedures including financial regulations and proven ability in managing multiple large and complex budgets.
  • Highly proficient level of financial numeracy and experience of data analysis. With a proven ability in managing multiple budgets and reporting in relation to business operations. With a proven ability to provide financial advice to Senior Management
  • Experience and comprehensive understanding of HR processes and procedures
  • Experience of managing estates and facilities, including Health and Safety regulations
  • Proven ability of line management
  • Good oral and written communication skills with an ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders, both within and outside the organisation
  • Demonstrable project management skills
