Job description

At Everyturn Mental Health, we're driven by a simple ambition: to ensure people can access the right support, at the right time, in a way that makes them feel understood.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join our Business Development Team and play a pivotal role in delivering our growth ambitions. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled business development professional to help secure new opportunities, strengthen strategic partnerships, and support the expansion of high-quality mental health services that make a real difference to people's lives.

This is a remote role, however there is some travel required, particularly to the North East. If you are based in the North East, working hybrid is an option.

About the role

As our Senior Business Development Manager, you'll lead the development of compelling bids, proposals and new business opportunities that support Everyturn's continued growth and impact. Working collaboratively with colleagues across clinical, operational and corporate services, you'll identify, develop and secure opportunities that align with our strategic objectives and help us reach more people who need mental health support.

You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end bid process, from opportunity identification and strategic planning through to submission and review, ensuring high-quality, competitive responses that showcase Everyturn’s expertise and values. The role also plays a key part in market intelligence, stakeholder engagement, partnership development and strengthening our overall business development approach.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading the development of high-quality bids, tenders, proposals and presentations.
  • Identifying and progressing new business opportunities through market research and stakeholder engagement.
  • Building strong relationships with commissioners, partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Managing a pipeline of opportunities and supporting strategic growth plans.
  • Using data, insight and market intelligence to inform business development activity.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of bid management processes and resources.
  • Coaching and supporting colleagues to enhance bid development capability across the organisation.
  • Ensuring quality, compliance and consistency across all submissions.
About you

We’re looking for someone who can bring a combination of business development expertise, strategic thinking and sector knowledge, including:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent career experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing high-quality, winning bids and proposals.
  • A strong understanding of how NHS services are commissioned and procured, with an awareness of the wider commissioning landscape.
  • Experience engaging and building relationships with commissioners, partners and senior stakeholders, including Director and Executive-level colleagues.
  • Knowledge of bid management best practice, including opportunity planning, win themes, bid strategy and persuasive response writing.
  • Experience in project management, risk management and data analysis.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into compelling proposals.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring or supporting colleagues to develop their skills and capabilities.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and digital tools used to support business development and bid management.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and to Everyturn's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Innovation.
