Overview

Divisional Manager - Legal BD, Marketing & Communications: An elite international law firm is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Director of Business Development to lead its marketing and BD efforts across its European and Middle Eastern offices. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the global Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, and offers the opportunity to shape and drive regional growth initiatives in collaboration with senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing business development strategies, managing a high-performing team across several offices, and ensuring alignment with global priorities. Key Responsibilities

• Lead regional BD strategy across the firm's European and Middle Eastern offices, in partnership with office and practice leaders.
• Oversee client targeting, market research, RFP responses, and relationship reviews to drive revenue growth.
• Collaborate with global BD leaders to identify and pursue cross-border opportunities.
• Manage strategic visibility initiatives in partnership with communications and branding teams.
• Build and mentor a geographically diverse BD team, fostering collaboration and performance.
• Drive key client initiatives, setting KPIs and infrastructure to support strategic growth.
• Partner with internal teams (e.g., Knowledge Management, Market Intelligence) to streamline BD processes and enhance data-driven decision-making.

Experience & Qualifications

• Extensive experience in professional services marketing and business development, ideally within a complex, matrixed organisation.
• Proven leadership experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of driving transformational initiatives.
