Turner Property Recruitment is partnering with a well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy in recruiting a Senior Building Surveyor for its growing team in St Austell, Cornwall. The role offers autonomy, varied projects, and clear career progression within a forward-thinking practice.

You will lead project delivery, perform surveys, act as Employer's Agent/Contract Administrator, mentor junior surveyors, and build strong client relationships while delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification or working towards chartership.
• Degree-qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering professional building surveying and project work.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration and construction projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsabilités

• Lead delivery of surveying and project work from inception to completion.
• Undertake building surveys, condition surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting.
• Act as Employer's Agent and Contract Administrator for projects from tender to final account.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support team development.
• Build relationships with clients and provide expert dilapidations and maintenance advice.

Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established, multidisciplinary construction consultancy to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor for its growing team in St Austell.

The Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for delivering a diverse range of surveying and project work, building strong client relationships, and supporting junior team members. This is a varied position offering genuine autonomy, career progression, and exposure to high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of construction projects from inception through to completion.
• Undertake building surveys, condition surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting across a diverse client base.
• Act as Employer's Agent and Contract Administrator, managing projects from tender through to final account.
• Support the growth and development of the Building Surveying team, ensuring consistently high standards of technical delivery and client service.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert advice on dilapidations, planned maintenance, party wall matters and wider building consultancy services.
• Mentor and support junior surveyors while working closely with senior leadership to contribute to the continued growth of the business.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong technical background and excellent client-facing skills. You will enjoy managing projects, developing client relationships, and working within a collaborative consultancy environment. Ideally you will have:

• Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• MRICS qualification (or working towards chartership).
• Experience delivering both professional Building Surveying services and project work.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration and construction projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
