EXPEDITE RECRUITMENT SERVICES LIMITED is recruiting a Building Surveyor to join a national property and construction consultancy with a strong South West presence. The role is Exeter-based with hybrid working and regular site surveying across Devon.
The ideal candidate will have RICS membership or be working towards Chartered status, and experience in building surveying, regulations knowledge, and client liaison. APC training and professional support are offered.

Salary: Up to £44,000
Hours: 37 hours per week

The organisation delivers a wide range of professional services to public and private sector clients across the UK, combining local expertise with national capability.
The role will be based from a modern Exeter office with excellent access to the M5, alongside a flexible and agile working approach that supports hybrid working. Due to the nature of the role, there will be a significant amount of site-based surveying, primarily across Devon.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join a multidisciplinary consultancy, providing professional building surveying and maintenance consultancy services across a varied project portfolio.
Deliver projects in accordance with RICS standards and best practice
Provide technical and advisory guidance to clients, stakeholders, and internal team members
Lead and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, client-focused projects and services
Prepare specifications, drawings, and risk assessments for improvement, refurbishment, and new-build schemes
Produce tender documentation and undertake contract administration, project management, and site monitoring duties
Carry out building condition surveys, schedules of condition, dilapidations, measured surveys, and planned maintenance
Undertake defect analysis, research, and preparation of technical reports
Contribute to conservation projects, including investigation of materials, repair methodologies, and quality control
Achieve a fee-earning target of approximately 90% and support wider business plan objectives
Travel to other offices and sites as required
The successful candidate will demonstrate a combination of relevant commercial experience and recognised industry training, including:
Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), or working towards Chartered status
Proven experience in a similar Building Surveying role
Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients
Confidence working independently or as part of a large multidisciplinary team
Experience across new-build and refurbishment projects
Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and related construction legislation
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
