Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to lead modular building projects from Winchester. Based in Elizabeth II Court with hybrid working, you’ll manage surveys, cost control and contract administration while delivering high-quality public works.

You’ll bring an HNC in Building Studies and a proven track record in surveying and project management, plus strong knowledge of construction legislation and CAD tools. Join a team of about 100 designers across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in building surveying and project management with a strong track record.
• In-depth knowledge of building construction, materials and legislation including Health & Safety Regulations, Building Regulations and Planning procedures.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality building surveying projects safely, on time and within budget, achieving excellent outcomes for clients.
• Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects valued between £0.5m and £2m, including contract administration.
• Coordinate and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and successfully.
• Carry out surveys, inspections and investigations, producing clear reports and recommendations.
• Develop practical, innovative solutions by applying expertise in design, conservation, construction and project management.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout project delivery.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge while promoting best practice across the Property Services team.
