Job summary

Pick Everard is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join their team in Glasgow. You will plan and manage projects, oversee designs/reports, and control internal costs and fees.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, engaging with clients, and driving project success across Blue Light, Defence, and a flagship heritage scheme. You will join a national team with strong training, development opportunities, and a supportive network.

Qualifications

• A RICS accredited degree or HND.
• Strong understanding of building principles and ability to prepare plans and specifications.
• Prior experience working within a Building Surveying role.
• Ability to work well in a team and deliver excellence.
• Commitment to providing a high-quality client experience.
• Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Running large and/or complex projects, monitoring progress and expenditure, and planning and managing project resources.
• Assisting with bid process and business development activities.
• Preparing and overseeing designs and reports.
• Undertaking surveys in accordance with firm procedures.
• Representing the firm at client meetings and presentations.
• Monitoring day-to-day programming and planning.
• Assisting with planning and managing project resources including junior staff development.
• Compliance with Health & Safety requirements.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Glasgow. This is your chance to make a significant impact in a thriving environment!

As Senior Building Surveyor you will plan and manage project resources, prepare, and oversee designs / reports, and have day-to-day control of internal costs and fee invoices. This is an exciting opportunity to mentor junior staff, guiding them in their technical development and helping to shape the next generation of professionals. In this position, you will engage directly with clients and other key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships that drive project success. Expect to contribute to a diverse array of projects in Blue Light and Defence in the region, including a prestigious flagship heritage scheme that showcases your expertise.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to successfully complete both Police Vetting and Scottish Government Vetting checks.

About You

Our ideal Senior Building Surveyor will have:

• A RICS accredited degree or HND.
• A strong understanding of building principles, along with the ability to prepare plans and specifications.
• Prior experience already working within a Building Surveying role.
• The ability to work well in a team and motivated to deliver excellence.
• A commitment to providing a high-quality client experience.
• The ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks.
• RICS Chartered status.
