Job summary

Pick Everard in London is seeking an Associate Director or Director for Building Surveying to lead our London team and grow a diverse portfolio across public and private sectors. You will provide strategic direction, drive technical excellence, and oversee high-quality project delivery while supporting bids and fee proposals.

You will manage a team of surveyors, develop client relationships, and contribute to national opportunities.

Qualifications

• Chartered status with substantial relevant experience, including team management.
• Hold a RICS or MCIOB qualification.
• Exceptional technical knowledge and strong business development capabilities.
• Excellent bid writing skills and the ability to present effectively to clients.
• Broad industry knowledge across multiple sectors.
• Ability to plan and programme projects effectively on a day-to-day basis.
• Ability to manage, monitor, and control workload and resource allocation efficiently.
• Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction across complex projects and programmes, monitoring progress, budgets and overall team performance.
• Manage and develop a team of surveyors, providing technical guidance, mentoring and pastoral care to support their professional growth.
• Contribute to the achievement of business plan objectives through the effective management and development of existing client relationships, while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
• Prepare, reviewing and overseeing the delivery of high-quality technical reports, specifications and designs.
• Lead business development activities, including client engagement, bid preparation and fee proposals, while contributing to national bid opportunities where required.
• Actively contributing to the Discipline Business Plan and supporting the strategic and sector-specific objectives of the wider Building Surveying team.
• Taking ownership of significant client accounts or sector responsibilities, providing strategic direction to strengthen client relationships and drive future growth.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation, policies and procedures.
