We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to lead, develop, and expand our building surveying function within bpha. This role involves being a key part of our in-house maintenance management team, shaping processes, systems, and approaches to proactively manage the condition of customer homes and ensure legislative compliance.

The successful candidate and their team will undertake a full range of technical surveying duties, collaborating closely with colleagues and contractors to resolve issues promptly, to high standards, and with lasting solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring properties remain habitable and free from hazards affecting health or enjoyment.
• Developing a motivated, engaged team that collaborates effectively to support bpha’s vision and strategy.
• Applying building pathology to diagnose and resolve building defects, mitigating risks, and ensuring durable repairs.
• Contributing to the management and development of repair processes, systems, and compliance with legislation.
• Implementing and maintaining a strong health and safety culture within the team.
• Maintaining a customer-first approach in all building services activities.

Candidate requirements:

• Degree in Building Surveying
• Associate RICS (AssocRICS) qualification or working towards it
• Willingness to pursue MRICS accreditation for professional development
• Experience in construction, maintenance, and repair works
• Knowledge of landlord responsibilities, construction, and housing health and safety regulations
• Experience in the social housing maintenance sector, either client or contractor side
