Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer to lead electrical design across a range of nuclear/defence and civil projects within a highly regulated environment. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, deliver design solutions, and ensure technical excellence while maintaining strong client relationships.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage design documentation, and contribute to bids and project planning for UK and European opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering knowledge of electrical building services design principles and processes.
• Experience managing and supervising engineering teams within multi-discipline projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Clients and team members.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current regulations and standards in electrical building services design.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) and professional body membership is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, governance, assurance and approval of electrical building services design solutions produced by the team.
• Lead multi-disciplinary design teams delivering electrical building services scope.
• Mentor and guide the electrical building services capability across projects.
• Manage design documents and drawings, including basis of designs, specs, and surveys.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across projects.
• Lead estimating and bidding input for work elements and schedules.
