Manchester City Council is seeking a registered Building Inspector to join the Building Control Service. The role requires a degree in a construction related discipline and professional registration, with a full UK driving licence for site visits.

Qualification - Suitable degree or equivalent award in a construction related discipline. Registered as a Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator as Class 2A - 2F
Professional Registration Body Membership - Suitable membership of RICS, CABE, CIOB or similar professional body/institution

This is an essential role that has a critical bearing upon the council's ability to meet statutory obligations for ensuring buildings comply with relevant building safety legislation and contributes significantly to the council's resilience capabilities. The responsibilities attached to the role are commensurate with the restricted activities and functions only available to building control and reflects the high importance and regard in which Building Control is held within the authority.
