Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) to lead design management on major projects. You will coordinate between lead designers and engineering/specialist teams, develop BRPD strategies, and ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 across high- and non-high-risk buildings.

You will oversee design deliverables, guide the design team from inception to completion, and contribute to bids and opportunities, reporting to the Design

Qualifications

• Engineering, Architectural or Design Management degree.
• Chartership, professional accreditation or are close to achieving either.
• Experience acting as a client facing design manager or technical lead in large, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Familiarity with all RIBA design stages, especially Stages 1–3 including planning submissions.
• Highly organised and proactive with strong stakeholder communication.
• Experience in large multi-disciplinary project environments and a drive for innovation.

Responsibilities

• Act as Senior Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) on major projects; liaise between lead designer and engineering/specialist teams.
• Develop BRPD strategy and process; deliver future-facing solutions across projects.
• Coordinate design delivery with engineers, specialists and stakeholders to meet high standards and Building Safety Act 2022 requirements.
• Lead BRPD process development, ensuring alignment with client goals and project outcomes.
• Oversee design deliverables, documentation, schedules and handover to client; support bids and opportunities.
