Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking engineers for its Browser Isolation team, focusing on Chromium-based browser work and distributed services across Go, Rust, and TypeScript. You will push scalable, secure, and efficient remote browsing breakthroughs while collaborating across teams and maintaining production-grade code.

You will contribute to architecture, tooling, and release processes, mentoring peers and driving durable improvements in performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong production C++ proficiency with memory management and debugging in large codebases.
• Experience leading complex systems or distributed-service improvements across multiple components.
• Strong Linux/UNIX and networking fundamentals with profiling to diagnose latency/resource issues.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems with service boundaries, data partitioning, and recovery strategies.
• Ability to communicate trade-offs clearly and mentor teammates.
• Willingness to work across C++, Rust, Go, and TypeScript and learn new stack areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-component initiatives from problem definition through implementation and rollout.
• Design and implement changes in Chromium-based browser and distributed services across Go, Rust, and TypeScript.
• Explain architectural trade-offs across latency, availability, security, and operational complexity.
• Investigate cross-layer failures and performance bottlenecks across browser, host, network, and control-plane.
• Improve resilience, observability, capacity management, and release safety; define success metrics.
• Coordinate work with partner teams, surface dependencies and risks early, guide delivery.
• Mentor engineers, raise code review quality, and improve documentation and practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident investigations as needed.
