Job summary

BT Group’s Broadband Software team in the Fixed Networks unit designs, develops and maintains back-end software to keep BT’s broadband networks running. You will work on APIs, deploy strategies, and multi-component services while mentoring peers and automating delivery.

The role involves collaborating across teams, contributing to security improvements, and continuously improving the deployment pipeline. Hybrid work in Ipswich or Birmingham is available.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java and Python development.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and system integration.
• Experience building and deploying services with CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on with containerization and orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test software components for the broadband network.
• Design deployment strategies for multi-component, fault-tolerant services.
• Lead design of new components and mentor junior team members.
• Package software for automated deployment and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment with stakeholders and teams.
