Job summary

The Oyster Partnership is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to support a local authority's bridge maintenance and highway structural programme in Wales. You will lead design, assessment and delivery from concept to construction, coordinating with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include on-site inspections, NEC contract administration and producing calculations, drawings and contract documentation. Hybrid working is available for this contract role.

Qualifications

• Experience in design, assessment, inspection and delivery of bridges and highway structures.
• Ability to generate calculations, drawings, detailing and contract documents.
• Experience acting as Engineer's Representative or NEC Supervisor on site.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, assessment and strengthening of highway structures, including bridges, culverts and retaining walls.
• Produce calculations, drawings, reinforced concrete detailing, specifications, bills of quantities and contract documentation.
• Act as Engineer's Representative, NEC Supervisor or Site Supervisor on construction projects.
• Undertake bridge inspections, structural assessments and technical reviews in accordance with relevant standards.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring schemes are completed safely, on time and within budget.
• Liaise with local authorities, contractors, statutory undertakers, environmental bodies and internal stakeholders.
• Support the procurement and administration of NEC contracts, maintaining project records and documentation.
