De La Rue in Debden, Essex, is seeking an experienced Senior BPS Operator to maximise output and maintain quality across the finish process. You will lead a bay of operators, ensure safe operation, and meet production targets on a 24/5 shift pattern.

The role requires familiarity with BPS finishing processes, strong attention to detail, and good IT skills for paperwork and OBIS usage. Salary starts at £48,140 with an uplift after probation.

Qualifications

• Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
• Craft Apprenticeship or NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• GCSE Maths and English (Essential).
• Experience finishing processes on BPS machines (Essential).
• Attention to detail.
• Computer literate.
• Able to manipulate OBIS model (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Maximise machine efficiency to produce consistently high output and quality.
• Problem solving on the machine, identifying technical problems and providing solutions.
• Control and monitor associated paperwork and computer records to provide accurate documentation.
• Ensure machine is run in a safe and proper manner and waste is minimised.
• Monitor product quality and adjust processes to minimise waste.
• Meet production targets set by management.
• Escalate machine malfunctions per procedures.
• Ensure effective shift changeovers and clear handover of information.
• Support continuous improvement activities across De La Rue.
• Understand OBIS interface to achieve quality with minimal spoilage.
