Job summary

De La Rue is seeking a Guillotine Operator for our Debden site in Essex. You will ensure guillotine output is maximised while maintaining quality and safety standards, reporting to the Finishing Process Lead.

The role involves running guillotines safely, targeting high efficiency, handling maintenance, keeping paperwork, and supporting continuous improvement. Permanent, 24/5 shift pattern with 12-hour days and nights; salary £42,965 rising to £45,576 after probation.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with mechanical equipment (Essential).
• Computer literacy (Essential).
• Comfortable working with numbers demonstrated through experience or qualifications (Essential).
• Good eyesight and attention to detail (Essential).
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills (Essential).
• Competent in guillotine cutting and autonomous maintenance (Essential).
• Experience of finishing processes (Essential).

Responsibilities

• Ensure guillotines are run in a safe and proper manner.
• Maximise guillotine efficiency to produce high output and quality with minimal spoilage.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical problems on the guillotine.
• Control and monitor associated paperwork.
• Maintain maintenance schedules and consumables for the guillotines.
• Meet production targets and ensure smooth shift changeovers.
• Support continuous improvement activities within the business.
• Follow SOPs to standardise working practices and safety.
