Job summary

Confidential, an independent accountancy practice in Northampton, is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join a friendly, low-pressure team. You can work full-time or three days a week part-time with flexible hours to suit your lifestyle.

You will manage a varied portfolio, handle VAT returns, ledger processing, and cloud-based accounting using Xero, QuickBooks and Sage. AAT qualification or equivalent experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping within an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of SME clients
• .Processing sales and purchase ledger transactions
• Bank reconciliations and cashbook management
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Maintaining accurate financial records and client accounts
• Assisting with management accounts preparation
• Liaising with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries
• Supporting year-end accounts preparation
• Processing journals, accruals and prepayments
• Using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
