Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is recruiting a Senior Bookkeeper for our Coventry practice on Binley Road. You will manage a diverse client portfolio, maintain ledgers, perform VAT returns, and work closely with senior partners to ensure deadlines are met.

The role offers flexible hours (32–37.5 per week), a competitive salary of 24,000–28,000, an incremental holiday scheme and on-site parking. Join a close-knit team in a well-established local firm.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
• Strong bookkeeping and VAT preparation skills.
• Ability to explain financial information clearly to clients.
• Proactive with deadlines and able to work independently within a team.
• Comfortable in a face-to-face office environment and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the bookkeeping requirements of a diverse range of long-standing clients.
• Act as primary contact, building relationships with business owners.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, reconciliations, and VAT returns.
• Meet monthly VAT or CIS deadlines with precision and quality.
• Collaborate with senior partners and audit/accounts teams to ensure seamless service.
• Support workflow and maintain high standards while expanding the client base.
