Job summary

RG Consultancy are partnering with a growing SME in Rochdale to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper on a full-time basis. You will join a small team and report into the Finance Manager, contributing to day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT returns, and concise financial reporting.

The role offers 25 days holiday, 8 bank holidays, flexible working hours, free onsite parking and a pension scheme. You will work with Sage 50 and Excel in a varied, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience working with an all-round accounts or bookkeeper role.
• AAT qualification or studying towards is highly desirable.
• Strong IT skills including MS Excel and accounting software; experience with SAGE 50 would be desirable.
• Experience working within a wholesale, distribution or retail environment would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50.
• Process sales and purchase invoices, credit notes, payments and receipts.
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring records are accurate and compliant.
• Produce regular management reports, including profit & loss, balance sheet and aged debtor/creditor reports.
