Job summary

Square Peg Associates in Blackburn is seeking a diligent Bookkeeper to join a small accounting team, supporting accounts preparation and daily bookkeeping tasks.

The role requires experience in industry or practice, familiarity with Xero/Sage/QuickBooks, and good Excel skills. Flexible hours allow part-time or full-time work (28–40 hours per week), with a friendly office environment and free parking.

Qualifications

• Experience with accounts within industry or practice.
• AAT qualification or QBE by experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Report to Senior Accountant with updates on accounts activities.
• Process invoices and credit notes accurately.
• Match delivery notes with supplier invoices.
• Code and input invoices into systems.
• Handle supplier queries and payments.
• Reconcile supplier payments monthly.
• Prepare quarterly VAT Return.
