Job summary

Diagnexia, a subsidiary of Deciphex, is pioneering digital pathology in Oxford. We seek an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to lead the Routine section, drive QA, and mentor staff across dissection, IHC and specials. You'll work within a forward-thinking, regulatory-compliant lab aligned to ISO 15189 and UKAS standards.

Qualifications

• Currently HCPC registered as a Biomedical Scientist (Mandatory).
• Minimum of 5+ years post-registration in a UKAS accredited Histopathology Lab (Mandatory).
• Proof of CPD and competency (Mandatory).
• IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma or MSc (desirable).
• Experience in preparation for UKAS audits (desirable).
• Ability to mentor and supervise staff with quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Routine section, ensuring high-quality service meeting clinical needs and regulatory standards.
• Oversee technical and scientific operations; provide specialist advice as required.
• Rotate across dissection, IHC and Specials; supervise junior staff and recruitment.
• Maintain SOPs, competency documents, training and CPD; support QMS and UKAS compliance.
• Develop and validate laboratory methods per ISO 15189:2022 and NEQAS.
• Support research into advanced tissue labelling, digitisation and analysis techniques.
