Job summary

Diagnexia seeks a Senior Biomedical Scientist (Dissection) to lead high‑quality, digitised pathology services. You will drive dissection for complex specimens, mentor staff, and support audits and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (mandatory).
• BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent (mandatory).
• IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Dissection or a Master’s degree (mandatory).
• Minimum 4+ years post-registration experience in UK Histopathology/Cellular Pathology lab.

Responsibilities

• Sample collection and handling.
• Dissection for Category A–C, with evolution to D&E as needed.
• Mentor and supervise MLA/BMA staff in the lab.
• Lead internal audits and UKAS/ISO 15189 readiness activity.
• Develop and maintain SOPs per RCPath/UKAS guidance.
• Duties may include deputising for BMS Lead and providing specialist advice.
• Maintain documentation, QC/QA, and reporting for pathologists and researchers.
