UHNM seeks a Senior Biomedical Scientist (Band 7) for the Main Lab/Training in Cellular Pathology. The role is based at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent, and includes a 37.5-hour week with a 7-day rotation and shifts from early to late.

You must hold HCPC registration and have substantial post‑registration pathology experience. The post leads the main laboratory activities, trains staff, and ensures SOPs, quality standards, and CPD opportunities are met.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist.
• 5+ years post-registration experience in pathology.
• Experience supervising staff and training students.
• Knowledge of clinical pathology data management and SOPs.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day technical activities in the main laboratory.
• Supervise staff and coordinate training within the lab.
• Deliver training sessions, tutorials, and in-house lectures.
• Maintain SOPs and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Work within UKAS ISO 15189 compliant systems.
• Engage with clinicians and maintain pathology networks.
