Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd. is seeking an experienced BIM Designer to join a specialist contractor in hard metal roofing and cladding. The role is based in Waltham Abbey with standard office hours 8am–5pm and a salary up to £60,000 depending on experience.

You will manage BIM models from initial design through installation, coordinating with clients and stakeholders to ensure designs meet requirements, codes, and budgets while maintaining thorough design documentation and ISO9001 compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Hard Metal Roofing and/or Flat Roofing and Cladding Design preferred (from the ad).
• High-level competency with Revit or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Part B and NHBC conditions.
• Familiarity with online document portals (e.g., 4Projects, Aconex).
• Full driving license and ability to commute to Waltham Abbey.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Able to work to tight deadlines with strong customer care.
• Strong ability to build internal/external relationships.
• Construction/design-related education advantageous (HNC/HND/Degree).
• Professional body membership preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure construction drawings and designs are produced on time to a high standard.
• Manage development and implementation of design proposals to meet client expectations.
• Adhere to budget constraints to maintain financial viability of designs.
• Present proposals for client approval.
• Oversee design process using technical expertise.
• Maintain complete design documentation and ISO9001 compliance.
• Coordinate submissions for building control compliance.
• Lead design data production and bid deliverables.
• Oversee design of multiple projects through contract.
• Review architectural design intent for workable solutions.
• Coordinate subcontractor drawings to resolve clashes.
• Review product data for compliance and incorporate into designs.
• Assist with design schedules and provide technical support.
• Attend and lead design team meetings with consultants.
